Yes, I'm "just" a stay at home mom...

I feel very blessed to be able to stay at home with my children...I know some crazy is not taking care of my child and doing God knows what with her...but I got this comment the other day and it bothered me...

I was chatting with a lady and we got onto the discussion of maternity leave, since she noticed I already had a small child and was due with another, she was curious about maternity leave..I said I'm a stay at home mom....

"Oh. So, you just stay at home? You don't work?"

Yep! I just stay at home. Its not work at all...

Lets go over my day...

6:30-Hallie up, Hallie breakfast, Leah breakfast, Hallie dressed, Hallie off to school...clean, laundry, entertain Leah, more cleaning, lunch...play with Leah, more laundry, nap time, Hallie home from school, deal with schoolwork, snacks, make supper, clean, baths, play, snacks, bed...I pretty much do everything except wipe Doug's ass...

Throw in days where I have to go grocery shopping and run errands...

Adding on that I am 9 months pregnant...

I can not take a 15 when I want, I am on call 24 hours.....

yeah, no work there...

Its a shame we put so little value in raising our children, or some just have the misconception that stay at home moms just sit around in our pajamas all day watching soaps and eating bon bons...

While I love being with my kids all day, I do miss the interaction with other adults, having my "own" thing...I envy that Doug can see our kids quirks and behavior as cute and funny, where they annoy me because I deal with them all day long.

So, I asked Hallie if she wanted me to get a job, that would mean more money to buy stuff for her...this is what she said..

"I love that you are always there for me"

There is not a big enough paycheck in the world that can compare to that...besides, I get paid in hugs and kisses, smiles and love...

I give props to working moms also, who do all that and be out of the house for 8 hours a day...

So can we all agree that there is no such thing as a "non working mom"...

Now, I must go let the magical elves out so I can relax in the lazy boy and get caught up on my soaps....

Shit, where did I put those bon bons....

49 days....

Until my due date...

But who's counting?

I know I said I did not want to complain, but I am getting really uncomfortable....

Sleep is pretty much a luxury now, my hips are in so much pain, I have to switch sides every 20 minutes...also, using the bathroom every hour...annoying

I can no longer shave my legs or see my feet, I get Doug to paint my toenails...bless him!

I peed my pants yesterday without any triggering event (sneezing, coughing, etc..) Fantastic!

I can't reach to the back of the washer machine or dryer for clothes...

Lifting, carrying and holding Leah for any period of time causes contractions...

One minute I am happy, then angry and crying...

I blame the hormones. For everything. Always

Most of all, I just want to meet this baby...he or she...I'm so excited!

Since I am planning for a boy....it will indeed be a girl....

And no, we still do not have any names...

Hallie's school has been a real clusterfuck......they keep moving classes and teachers....she should be back in an all grade 2 class today, no longer split with grade 3... The school must think parents are made out of money, every day there is some new request for money...fundraisers, Terry Fox (not that I mind that one) Pizza, book orders....we are lucky to be able to be a little generous, but I would imagine there are some families that just can not afford giving the school $10 a week

I'm just trying to get some cooking and freezing done, as I am only 3 weeks to term, my Dr said after 37 weeks its fine for Beebo to come.....so at 37 weeks eviction papers will be served!

We are going to the reptile expo on Sunday, but other than that should be a quiet one...

Have a good one!

The fat lady has sung....

I have not nursed Leah in over 48 hours.....

The "girls" have gone into semi-retirement...

She seems to be taking it well, I however, am not really emotionally ready for it...but it was time to let go...I deserve a break...for a few more weeks anyways...

Another week that flew by....Doug and Hallie had a good start to the school year, it will take a few more weeks to settle into routine. Hallie is in a split class with grade 3, so I am not sure how that is going to work, I figure it will either be a good thing or very bad...

We got some exciting news this week..good friends of ours are expecting a baby in April! I am so excited...I hope its a girl so I can unload all this pink stuff!

See these....

They are green chilies....from my garden!

Woot!

I have a ton, and also some Jalapeno peppers too...I'm thinking fresh salsa with our tomatoes..yum!

Hope everyone has a great week!

I have a question....

What is the point of the male species?

Besides the ability to make babies and open jars...really...do they have a purpose?

Wait, maybe this....

Thats about it I'm afraid....maybe yours has more talents than mine....
